Female Quotient

Ontem à noite, fui convidado para o evento “Female Quotient” no Pier 60. Este evento incrível despertou em mim a necessidade em elevar as mulheres em minha vida e abraça-las em posições de poder e mudança dentro de nossa geração. Esta noite não foi apenas para levantar mulheres no comércio e na indústria, mas também no esporte e na cultura popular.

Melissa Stockwell, veterana da Guerra do Iraque e medalhista paralímpica Na natação, discutiu como ela fundou um clube chamado Dare2Tri, projetado para treinar atletas com deficiência para triatlos! Incrível!!!

Allyson Felix, falou hoje à noite antes de embarcar em um avião com sua filha com destino a Doha Qatar para competir na corrida. Quando questionada sobre como ela faz tudo, ela disse: “Eu apenas faço”.

Depois dessa incrível Sra. Felix, Sarah Jessica Parker, fundadora e designer da SJP e também Carrie Bradshaw em um programa pouco conhecido chamado Sex and the City. Ela falou sobre suas dificuldades e o que a leva adiante. Adivinha o que é isso? Medo. Ela admitiu estar ansiosa na vida, mas o desconhecido e o que pode vir disso é o que a leva adiante. Observando-a falar hoje à noite, você entende o quão genuína ela é, ela ainda é mãe, ainda é esposa e ainda tenta fazer isso como todos.

Após o SJP, fomos surpreendidos por uma performance surpresa de Kodi Lee tocando ‘Imagine’. Uma música bonita e poderosa para terminar esta noite incrível.

Last Night I was invited to the Female Quotient event at Pier Sixty. This incredible event lit a fire in me to lift up the women in my life and embrace women in positions of power and change within our generation.

This night was not just about lifting up women in commerce and industry but also in sports and popular culture.

Melissa Stockwell, an Iraqi War veteran and Paralympic Medallist In swimming discussed how she has founded a club called Dare2Tri designed to train athletes with disabilities for triathlons! Incredible!!!

Allyson Felix, spoke tonight just before boarding a plane with her daughter bound for Doha Qatar to compete in running. When asked how she does it all, she said “I just do it”.

Following that incredible Ms. Felix was Sarah Jessica Parker, founder and designer of SJP and also Carrie Bradshaw on a little known show called Sex and the City. She spoke about her hardships and what drives her forward. Guess what it is? Fear. She admitted to being anxious in life but the unknown and what may come of it is. What drives her forward. Watching her speak tonight you understand how genuine she is, she is still a mom, she is still a wife and still trying to make it just like all of us.

Following SJP we were serenaded by a surprise performance by Kodi Lee performing ‘Imagine’. A beautiful and powerful song to end this incredible evening.
