It’s a bold statement, but I’m standing by it—Carissa’s truly has the best bread in the Hamptons. Seriously, once you’ve tasted it, you’ll understand. But this bakery offers so much more than just bread. It’s one of those places that feels like an invitation to slow down, enjoy the simple pleasures, and indulge in life’s little luxuries.
Part of the joy in traveling for me is uncovering new flavors and favorites, and Carissa’s does not disappoint
Let’s talk food, because you know I will. We kicked things off with the Seasonal Market Salad—a vibrant burst of color and freshness, just as nature intended. Think shaved fennel, carrots, radishes, and feta, all brought together with the crunch of toasted almonds and a zesty homemade mustard vinegar dressing. Pure bliss on a plate.

Then there was the Gazpacho—refreshing, light, and perfect for the summer weather. And because it was brunch (and what’s brunch without a little indulgence?), we treated ourselves to an India Pale Ale, Rosé, and Champagne. Yes, all three. Don’t judge—balance is key!

For dessert, the showstopper: a Blackberry Tart. Picture this—crunchy chocolate shell, hazelnut frangipane, blackberry mousse, fresh blackberries, and edible flowers. Almost too pretty to eat, but who am I kidding? It was gone in minutes. Thankfully, you can get this masterpiece at all of Carissa’s locations, so I don’t have to wait too long to have it again.

And I cannot forget the Pan Bagnat Sandwich. Tuna, olives, capers, preserved lemon, tomatoes, summer radishes, arugula, red onion, and a perfectly sliced hard-boiled egg—it’s the kind of sandwich that reminds you why simple ingredients can be so extraordinary.

Now, let’s talk cookies. I could have easily devoured 10 of them, but I forced myself to savor every bite of just one. Trust me, it was an exercise in self-control.
We visited the Amagansett location, and if you’re heading there, I recommend snagging a table outside, under the trees. Between the fresh air and the food, it’s the perfect spot to unwind. The space itself is cozy and inviting, offering a full bakery, restaurant, and bar. Whether you’re grabbing a quick treat to-go or sitting down for a leisurely meal, Carissa’s has you covered.

The crowd? People looking for their next sugar fix in the most picturesque setting. The baked goods are gorgeous, and yes, PSA: this bakery also serves cocktails. The service was friendly and quick, which only adds to the charm.
Honestly, anyone who tries Carissa’s pastries can’t help but come back for more. It’s a place that draws you in, with flavors that will make you want to stay. Until next time, Hamptons. I’ll be dreaming of Carissa’s.
Catch you later, Rafaela Sa Kultgen.
