Last Thursday, I went to the premiere of The Fantastic Four: First Steps at B&B Theatres Liberty 12, and honestly, it was the perfect way to kick off the weekend early. Nothing beats that first night energy—everyone excited, popcorn in hand, and the theater packed with Marvel fans.

If you’ve never been to the Liberty location, you’re missing out. The seats recline (yes, heated!), the screen is massive, and the sound just pulls you into the action. It’s one of my favorite spots for new releases near Kansas City.
Let’s Talk About the Movie: Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025)

This movie marks the official introduction of Marvel’s first family into the MCU and they did it right. First Steps is exactly what the title suggests: the beginning. It’s a new origin story that sets the tone for what’s to come, and it felt more grounded and personal than I expected. It focuses on how the team comes together, how their powers change them—not just physically, but emotionally and hints at much bigger things brewing.
Without spoiling anything:
- Reed is brilliant and awkward in the best way
- Sue is sharp, confident, and honestly steals a lot of scenes
- Johnny brings the energy (and some great lines)
- Ben’s transformation hits hard—and his story really pulls at you
It’s more about becoming a team than fighting some giant villain (for now), and I liked that. Marvel seems to be playing the long game here.
If you’re planning to see Fantastic Four: First Steps, I 100% recommend doing it at B&B Theatres Liberty. It’s cozy, modern, and the perfect spot for premiere nights like this. Grab your snacks, get comfy, and enjoy the ride.
