Traveling with kids is becoming about more than simply finding a family-friendly hotel. Families are looking for experiences that make a destination feel exciting, educational, and memorable. This summer, Loews Hotels & Co is bringing all of that together with Loews Little Legends STEAM Explorers, a family travel program available at both Loews Kansas City Hotel and Loews Regency New York Hotel.
Blending science, technology, engineering, art, and math, the program gives young travelers new ways to discover the hotel and the city around them through interactive STEAM Explorer Kits, activities, art, museums, and local experiences.

Exploring Kansas City with Loews Little Legends
Kansas City continues to surprise travelers with how much there is to experience here. From world-class museums and public art to incredible food, family attractions, and a downtown that continues to evolve, KC makes a great Midwest weekend getaway.
Located in the heart of downtown, Loews Kansas City Hotel is especially convenient for families who want to explore the city while staying close to many of its major attractions.
This summer, the hotel expanded its Loews Little Legends programming with STEAM Explorer Kits created specifically for curious young travelers.

The kits go beyond the typical hotel kids’ amenity. Each one includes tools such as binoculars, a compass, magnifying glass, kaleidoscope, and activity book, encouraging children to observe their surroundings, solve challenges, and experience travel from a completely different perspective.
And the best part? The STEAM kits are still available through Labor Day, so families visiting Kansas City still have time to experience the program.
A Little Kansas City Art Adventure
One of the special Loews Little Legends events took place last week and celebrated something very Kansas City: our famous hearts.
The There’s No Place Like Chrome Art Activity was inspired by the No Place Like Chrome heart installation from Kansas City’s beloved Parade of Hearts. During the event, children were invited to create their own miniature heart keepsake during a hands-on workshop led by artist Trew Love.
While the Chrome workshop has already taken place, families staying at Loews Kansas City can still pick up the STEAM Explorer Kits and participate in the scavenger hunt, making it easy to turn a hotel stay into a mini Kansas City adventure.
I love seeing hotels incorporate the personality of the destination into their family programming. In KC, public art is part of the city’s identity, so connecting the experience with Parade of Hearts feels especially fitting.

#AD – Planning a Kansas City trip?
If you’re visiting Kansas City for the first time, I always recommend adding a few experiences to your itinerary instead of only exploring on your own.
I use GetYourGuide to discover tours, attractions, and activities when I travel, and it’s also a great place to look for things to do around Kansas City.

Loews Little Legends in New York City
And because CosmopoliTips will always have a special connection to NYC, I was excited to see that Loews Regency New York Hotel is offering its own version of the Little Legends STEAM Explorers program.
Located on Park Avenue in Manhattan, Loews Regency gives families a great base for exploring some of New York City’s most iconic cultural attractions.
Like Kansas City, young guests can receive STEAM Explorer Kits filled with tools designed to encourage curiosity and exploration throughout their trip.
But New York takes the experience beyond the hotel with some pretty special cultural partnerships.
Exploring The Met Like a Little Legend
One of the highlights of the NYC program is Loews Regency’s continued programming with The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Select private experiences give families the opportunity to explore The Met’s incredible collection with museum educators. With more than 5,000 years of art represented throughout the museum, it’s an amazing way to introduce younger travelers to one of NYC’s most important cultural institutions.
A remaining Museum Highlights: An Introduction to The Met Collection tour is scheduled for August 19, with the experience beginning at 4:00 p.m.
Families can also discover programming at the nearby Society of Illustrators, just steps from the hotel on 63rd Street.
On August 29, the museum is scheduled to host a Picture Book Spotlight with Caldecott-winning author and illustrator Micha Archer, creator of Wind Watchers.
Loews Regency guests can use code LOEWS10 for 10% off eligible tickets to the designated Picture Book Spotlight events. Guests can also show their hotel key card for a complimentary sketch pencil and 10% off the museum gift shop.
It’s exactly the kind of NYC experience I love: staying in Manhattan while actually connecting with the art, culture, and neighborhoods that make the city special.

#AD Traveling out of the country? Stay Connected
If your summer plans take you beyond Kansas City or New York and especially if you’re traveling internationally, having internet access as soon as you land makes everything easier.
I use Holafly eSIM when traveling internationally because I can set up my data before the trip and avoid searching for a physical SIM card after landing.
Get your Holafly eSIM here:

It’s one of those small travel preparations that makes a big difference when you’re navigating a new destination, ordering an Uber, checking hotel information, or pulling up your itinerary.
Two Cities, One Family Travel Experience
What I like most about Loews Little Legends STEAM Explorers is that the program isn’t exactly the same everywhere. The concept stays consistent, but each destination gets an opportunity to tell its own story.
In Kansas City, that means connecting young travelers with creativity, local art, the Parade of Hearts, and an interactive scavenger hunt.
In New York City, it means introducing families to institutions like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Society of Illustrators.
For families planning a Kansas City getaway or NYC family vacation this summer, it’s a fun way to make the hotel part of the travel experience instead of simply the place where you sleep.
Loews Little Legends STEAM programming is available through Labor Day 2026.
